Four Ole Miss Rebels football players heard their names called on the second day of the 2019 NFL Draft.
Greg Little, A.J. Brown, DK Metcalf and Dawson Knox received the phone call that they had been dreaming of since they started playing the game.
Little was the first Rebel selected on the night with the 37 overall pick by the Carolina Panthers. The Allen, Texas native anchored the Ole Miss offensive line for the last three seasons, appearing in every game at left tackle since arriving on campus.
Brown was the next to go with the 51 overall selection by the Tennessee Titans. He re-wrote the receiving record books in his three years at Ole Miss. He stands as the all-time leading receiver in Ole Miss history with 2,984 yards. He had 12 100-yard receiving performances during his career, also a program record.
Brown amassed 1,320 yards in 2018, breaking his own single-season school record of 1,252, set last season. He’s the only player in Ole Miss history with two 1,000-yard seasons to his name. Brown also set the Ole Miss single-season receptions record with 85 catches this year.
Metcalf heard his name called by the Seattle Seahawks with the 64 pick that ended the second round of the draft.
The Oxford, Mississippi, native appeared in 21 games during his career at Ole Miss and hauled in 14 career touchdowns. Metcalf tallied 26 catches for 569 yards and five scores before suffering a season-ending injury vs. Arkansas in the seventh game of the 2018 season.
During his redshirt freshman campaign, Metcalf recorded career-bests in both receptions (39), receiving yards (646) and touchdowns (seven) on his way to being named to the SEC All-Freshman Team.
The Buffalo Bills selected Knox with the 96 pick in the draft. Knox walked on to the Rebels from Brentwood, Tennessee.
During his career playing for the red and blue Knox recorded 39 receptions for 605 yards.
