The Ole Miss Rebels’ offensive firepower showed out on the diamond this weekend in a 12-2 victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide during the final game.

Ole Miss (14-6, 2-1 SEC) took a sharp hold on the rubber game as they scratched across seven runs in the third inning. Leadoff batter Anthony Servideo brought in Tim Elko for the first run.

Junior Grae Kessinger got in on the action with a double to left field that scored Servideo and Jacob Adams. Thomas Dillard then scored Kessinger on a single. Tyler Keenan drove the ball up the middle with the bases load for two more runs. The final run of the frame came in as Ryan Olenek scored on a sacrifice fly by Cooper Johnson.

The Rebels’ hurler Gunnar Hoglund dominated on the bump through the first five innings before coming out in the sixth. He picked up his first win.

In the fifth, Ole Miss scored its final five runs of the game. The first of the inning came when Johnson brought Olenek in with a single to the outfield. Adams then sent Keenan home with an infield single that the shortstop was unable to convert into an out.

Kessinger finished the day going 3-4 at the plate with 5 RBIs.

Alabama was able to get on the board in sixth against Austin Miller on a single that scored two runs.

Ole Miss returns to the diamond Tuesday as they play host to Arkansas Pine-Bluff. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
