Tornado Watch Issued for Lafayette County Through Noon

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch at 5:20 this morning that remains in effect until noon today.
A Wind Advisory was issued previously that remains in effect through 7 p.m.
There is a slight and marginal risk for severe storms this morning and afternoon. The greatest risk will be along and east of the Mississippi River. Damaging winds will be the primary threat. Secondary threats include localized flooding, large hail, and isolated tornadoes.
As the cold front moves into the area temperature will drop more than 30 degrees with a high today of 77 degrees and a low expected of 43 degrees tonight.
The forecast throughout the weekend call for sunshine and cooler temperatures with highs in the mid-50s and lows in the mid-30s through Sunday and then gradually increasing into next week.
