The Ole Miss women’s basketball team returns to the confines of the Pavilion to play host to the Auburn Tigers Thursday, Jan. 31. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. and will be on the SEC Network +.
Ole Miss (8-13, 2-5) is coming off of an 80-49 loss to No. 6 Mississippi State on Sunday afternoon inside the Hump. The Rebels senior Crystal Allen scored a team-high 15 points while knocking down three free-throws in the game.
Allen has made 37 straight from the charity stripe, which ranks as the third-longest active streak in the NCAA and the longest in the conference.
Auburn rolls into Oxford with a mark of 15-5 on the season and 3-4 in conference action. The Tigers suffered a pair of top 25 losses in their last two outings as they fell short to No. 24 Texas A&M and No. 25 Missouri.
Auburn has three players averaging double figures led in senior Janiah McKay with 14.7 ppg, Daisa Alexander with 12.7 ppg and Unique Thompson with 12.2 ppg each time on the floor.
The Tigers lead the SEC and rank third in the nation in total steals with 247. They average approximately 12 steals per game.
Thursday’s game will be the 61st meeting between the two schools. Auburn leads the all-time series at 35-25 but the Rebels have the advantage at 13-11 in games played in Oxford. Last season, Auburn defeated Ole Miss 60-55 on the road.
Fans not able to make it to the Pavilion can watch all the action on the SEC Network+ or listen to the call on Ole Miss Radio.
