The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department is still looking for the person responsible for shooting and killing a pony last week on County Road 253.
According to the horse’s owner, Dennis Bullard, his 20-year pony Sadie was shot from the road and then ran back to her barn where she died.
The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department said there were no suspects as of Tuesday and that the community should report any suspicious behavior or information about the shooting to the LCSD at 662-234-6421.
Bullard said a game warden that these types of crimes if ever solved, usually are after some time has passed and the perpetrator brags about doing it to someone who turns them in.
Bullard said he’s not giving up hope to bring Sadie’s killer to justice.
“I really miss Sadie,” he said Tuesday. “It’s just not the same when I go out to feed (the others).”
Bullard is offering a $1,000 reward for the information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for killing his pony.
