The Ole Miss Rebels women’s basketball team looks to carry a two game SEC winning streak to the Music City as they face the Vanderbilt Commodores on Thursday. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. inside Memorial Gymnasium on SEC Network +.
Ole Miss (8-11, 2-3) is coming off a 76-66 victory over Florida at The Pavilion on Jan. 20, marking the first time in two years that the Rebels have won consecutive SEC games.
Senior Shandricka Sessom had a huge day with 19 points and six rebounds, while also kicking off the game with three straight three-pointers in 38 seconds. Sessom went 2-for-14 from beyond the arc in her previous three games entering.
Vanderbilt enters the game with a 5-13 overall record and a 0-5 mark in conference play. The Commodores dropped a heartbreaker at home to the Auburn Tigers last Thursday.
This season, Vanderbilt is lead on the floor by Mariella Fasoula with 16.9 points per game and Cierra Walker with 12.0 ppg.
Vanderbilt comes in shooting 43.1 percent as a team (4th SEC) allowing 43.4 percent to their opponents.
Vanderbilt leads the all-time series with the Rebels at 32-16. Ole Miss has only won three times in games played in Nashville. The last win for the Rebels in Music City was in 1987 by a score of 77-73.
