Abbeville Resident Captures Blood Wolf Moon Eclipse

Published

on

Local Oxford resident Ron Kitchens captured the Super Blood Wolf Moon and lunar eclipse Sunday night, where the sunlight passing through Earth’s atmosphere lit the moon and turned it red.

Kitchens said he captured the celestial event using a good DSLR camera and tripod and a “bit of trial and error on the settings and a warm coat and toboggan.”

The next total eclipse won’t happen until 2021, and North Americans will have to wait until 2022 for a blood moon to be visible from their location.

It is humbling to watch a natural event such as an eclipse. It is sobering to think how small mankind is in the overall scheme of universe. Great pictures, Ron Kitchens!
