OPD officers made the following arrests:

1 possession of drug paraphernalia, running a stop sign and no seat belt

1 warrant served, driving while license suspended and expired tag

1 DUI, careless driving and no insurance
1 DUI and child endangerment, two counts
1 DUI and headlights
1 DUI and no tag
1 DUI and speeding
1 possession of drug paraphernalia
2 for possession of drug paraphrenia and speeding
1 warrant served
Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department investigated nine wrecks and the following reports:

Deputies made the following arrests:

University Police Department officers investigated two wrecks, two reports of a suspicious person and made the following arrests:
1 public drunk
1 speeding, driving while license suspended and possession of controlled substances – three counts
UPD officers made the following arrests:
1 improper equipment and driving while license suspended
1 DUI
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
12/28 – 3:29 p.m. – 3046 Davis Drive – medical call – stood by for EMS
12/29 – 4:11 p.m. – Oxford Health & Rehab – smoke detector malfunction
12/29 – 5:46 a.m. – CR 459 – one-vehicle wreck with entrapment
12/29 – 9:38 a.m. – Lafayette Place 4017B – medical call – monitored vitals until EMS arrived
12/30 – 5:53 a.m. – Crave restaurant – elevator mechanical room smoke detector malfunction
12/30 – 2:10 p.m. – 428 Christman Drive – medical call – monitored vitals until EMS arrived
12/31 – 2:03 a.m. – The Links – someone made a prank medical call to this apartment – call back cell phone number had been disconnected.
12/31 – 8:36 p.m. – 404 Tyler Ave – had lit candles too close to a small Christmas tree sitting on a table and caught the tree on fire – fire out before arrival – residents wanted FD to ventilate the house
01/01 – 9:37 a.m. – Haven House – smell of gas on the third floor – checked the area with a gas monitor and did not find anything
01/01 – 6:23 p.m. – Anderson Estates No. 2 – puppy rescue call – puppy had its head caught in a recliner mechanism – firefighters removed the puppy with no injuries
