Ole Miss junior outside hitter Emily Stroup continues to garner postseason accolades after recently being named to the 2018 SEC Volleyball Community Service Team.
The Frago, North Dakota native was named to the all-conference selections earlier in the week after being ranked second in the country in kills (584), breaking the Rebels single-season record and breaking the program’s record for single-season kills three separate times this season.

In addition to being a standout on both the court and in the classroom, Stroup also serves as one of the Rebels’ most active community members. She volunteers at the Brookdale Assisted Living Center and has volunteered to read to children at local elementary schools via the Reading with the Rebels program. Stroup has also served as a member of the Dr. Seuss Read Across America Day, Rebel-THON, and the Big Event. She volunteers with the city’s local volleyball clinics and has served as the head volunteer for the volleyball section of National Girls and Women in Sports Clinic. Stroup, a three-time SEC Academic Honor Roll selection, participates in local visits through the Oxford School District.
Each season the conference sponsors a Community Service Teams for all 21 league-sponsored sports. The award looks to highlight athletes who give back to their community in superior service efforts, in addition to their time on the field/court and in the classroom.
