In a thriving college town, options for off campus living spaces for students are increasing every school year. Every apartment complex attempts to offer something unique to draw students in, whether it is price, location, or amenities.

As of the fall of 2017, one of the more notable complexes finished construction in arguably the best location in Oxford. Uncommon Oxford opened its doors to students and residents alike, and with its prime location close in proximity to campus, the Grove, and the Square, it is easily accessible from any point in town.

Residents looking for new, modern, upscale living should look no further than Uncommon. Features include track LED lighting, granite countertops, hardwood flooring, smart TV’s mounted on walls with a sound bar, and the rooms come fully furnished. Manager Laura Dziagwa discussed the story behind the apartment complex and the perks of living at Uncommon.

“We picked the location on purpose because we do want the convenience for our residents to be able to come and go to the Square and also walk to campus,” Dziagwa said. “The majority of the residents living in Uncommon are students but also non traditional students and small families are welcome as well.”

Although there is a parking garage underneath the building, most residents said they tend to walk most places as a result of the convenient location. Former resident and University of Mississippi student Mckenzie Hall reflected positively on her time living at Uncommon.

“I probably put gas in my car once a month because I was walking so much,” she said.

Dziagwa said Uncommon is continually working on improving the overall living experience for residents and is now extending the invitation to visitors coming in town for the weekend.

On the first floor Uncommon has turned four units into short-term rentals for families and friends. These units are also fully furnished. Uncommon has several deal throughout the year for friends and families looking for a place to stay on game days, holidays, or for a general weekend.

They look like they’re already about to fall down, to me.
