TV Show Casting For Paid Extras Near Memphis
All ages welcome, sign up for your chance to appear in a new TV series!
The Chamber of Commerce was asked to help announce an extras casting call for an HBO/Cinemax TV show, QUARRY, which is hiring hundreds of paid Extras (all ages, types and ethnicities) to work on set of the pilot episode. No previous experience is necessary.
The project will begin filming July 22, 2013 in North Mississippi (Horn Lake area) and Memphis for 13 days. You must be able to get to the filming locations easily and timely so you should live in the Memphis, TN or Southaven, MS area.
They are looking for around three hundred people total. Anyone can register, yet there is a specific need for casting older men and women, Caucasian & African American, age 40 to 80.
Additionally they are looking for cars or pickup trucks, 1964 to 1973—any color (must be drivable), and NOT necessarily completely restored.
“My job involves creating textures and balances on set. Younger people are typically easier to find, but we really need older people involved to give each frame a realistic balance,” says Marty Cherrix, Mississippi Casting Director for Quarry. “After working behind the scenes, participants will never watch TV shows or movies the same way again. Overall, you are signing up for a really unique experience.”
If you are interested in signing up, please email 3 recent photos—they will need to see your face, as well as the length of your hair—front & back), include height, weight, age, all clothing sizes (including shoe size), and telephone number (so they can reach you). Extras will get paid a fixed rate of $60 for 8 hours on set, plus overtime if necessary.

QUARRY is based on a series of novels by Max Allan Collins and set in the 1970s. He’s recruited into a network of corrupted killers. Quarry also co-stars Stellan Skarsgard (THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO).
John Hillcoat is directing (LAWLESS, THE ROAD). Other cast members include: Mary Elizabeth Winstead (DIE HARD, SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD); Noah Taylor (GAME OF THRONES); Skipp Sudduth (THE GOOD WIFE). –– William Fowler, junior Integrated Marketing Communications Major, Meek School of Journalism and New Media
