A defensive battle broke out in the first quarter between Ole Miss and Vanderbilt under the lights in Music City. The Rebels took a 13-12 advantage going into the locker room at halftime.
Ole Miss scored the only points in the first quarter on a field goal by kicker Luke Logan.
Early in the second quarter, Logan connected on his second field goal of the game after the Rebels failed to put the ball in the end zone on two attempts. Senior quarterback Jordan Ta’amu then found junior wide receiver A.J. Brown on a 84 yard touchdown.
Vanderbilt quickly answered with 12 unanswered points in the quarter.
Ta’amu passed for 240 yards with a touchdown, and the Landshark defense allowed 161 total yards in the half.
Ole Miss will get tight end Dawson Knox back in the game after a second half targeting call during the Texas A&M game.
