Oxford Police Department issued 17 tickets, investigated 10 wrecks and the following reports:

OPD officers made the following arrests:
1 domestic violence with simple assault
1 DUI
1 DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding and driving while license suspended
1 possession of a schedule 3 drug
2 for shoplifting
1 warrant served
Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department made one arrest for child neglect, investigated one wreck and the following reports:

University Police Department made one arrest for possession of drug paraphernalia and investigated the following reports:
1 false fire alarm
1 grand theft
1 suspicious person
1 simple assault
1 ambulance assist
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
11:30 a.m. – Exxon University Ave. – subject feeling dizzy – possible low blood sugar refused EMS
12:06 p.m. – 611 Commerce Parkway – smoke detector malfunction
12:58 p.m. – 108 Twin Oaks Cove – burned food activated a smoke detector
1:14 p.m. – St. John Catholic Church – workers activated a smoke detector
3:34 p.m. – Mary Buie Museum – burned food activated a smoke detector
3:58 p.m. – 405 Van Buren – carbon monoxide detector activation – had gas heater cleaned and smelled gas since cleaning – gas monitor showed levels normal
5:47 p.m. – West Jackson / Rebel Drive – wreck with injuries
5:47 p.m. – 2000 West Jackson area – a different wreck with no injuries
6:14 p.m. – Pi Kappa Alpha house – third-floor smoke detector malfunction
6:30 p.m. – Rickey Britt Drive area – pedestrian hit by a truck
8:29 p.m. – 117A Skyline Dr. – medical call – monitored patient until EMS arrived
8:50 p.m. – Phi Kappa Psi house – House mother room smoke detector malfunction
