The city of Water Valley will be without power from sunrise to sundown on Nov. 3 so the Water Valley Electric Department can make improvements to the system.
A customer service representative answering the phone at WVED Thursday said it was the Tennessee Valley Authority that required the power to be shut off so it could make improvements to their system.
Subsequently, the city of Water Valley decided since the power would be off, it would go ahead and make necessary improvements to its system.
A representative from TVA could not be reached Thursday.
All customers who receive power for WVED will experience the outage, whether they live in or outside of the city limits.
The electric department has sent notices to its customers telling them to make arrangements in advance, especially those citizens who are home-bound or on oxygen.
