The University of Mississippi continues to be a visionary in the worlds of banking and finance. On Friday, Sept. 14 the Ole Miss Banking and Finance Advisory Board and Ken Cyree, dean of the UM business school, will host the 18th Annual Banking and Finance Symposium at the Oxford Conference Center.
The purpose of the symposium is to educate and update stakeholders in the banking industry on current trends and issues in a changing industry, according to Stan Viner, chair of the Ole Miss Banking and Finance Advisory Board.
Last year’s event garnered more than 130 attendees from around the U.S. Those attendees ranged from high-performing students to commercial and investment bankers from New York.
“We cherish variety,” Viner said.
The event begins at 10 a.m. with opening remarks from the UM Chancellor, Jeffrey Vitter. Governor Phil Bryant will continue discussion and introduce industry speakers Grayson Hall, chairman of Regions Bank and Al Dominick, CEO of Bank Directors magazine, among others.
Panel discussion topics include Cybersecurity, attracting quality deposits and merger and acquisitions vs capital expansion.
Event sponsors include Stifel, Regions Bank, Community Bank, Bloomberg, C-Spire and many more.
