OUT Buses Switch to Fall Schedule, New Old Taylor Road Line Added

The Oxford University Transit buses are now back to running on their fall schedule, which means later runs and more buses on several routes.

Buses will now run until 9 p.m.; however, on the Red and Blue lines, the buses run hourly after 6 p.m.

OUT switched back to its fall schedule last week.

A new line has been added this year to the Old Taylor Road area to serve new apartment complexes like The Achieve. The Green line was split into two routes – the original Green route and the new Old Taylor Road Express route.

The Bronze Line remains part of the park-and-ride route where students park at the Jackson Avenue Center – with a special permit – and ride the bus onto campus. An additional stop at the JAC has been added tot he Bronze line.

All city routes will drop people off at the school’s two transit hubs on campus, Kennon Observatory and the Student Union. The Campus bus loop will then pick up and distribute riders throughout campus.

The Rebel Blue and the Rebel Red lines run a circle on the Ole Miss campus Monday-Friday.

Ole Miss faculty and students ride the bus at no cost. Other riders pay $1. Children, K-12, pay 75 cents with school ID. The elderly – 65 and up with proof of age and the disabled – with an OUT disability card, pay 50 cents.

Monthly passes are available at the OUT office located at 409 McElroy Drive and are $30 a month for adults; $15 for the elderly and disabled and $25 for K-12 students.
