The Gateway to the Delta Festival planning committee is seeking vendors for the upcoming festival, which will be held Saturday, Oct. 13, from 10 a.m. until 11 p.m. around the courthouse square in Charleston.
The fee for food vendors is $200, class reunion booths are $85, and arts and crafts booths are $60.
Rental spaces are approximately 10-by-10 feet for arts and crafts vendors and 10-by-30 feet for food vendors. There are a limited number of vendor spots that feature available electrical hookups, but generators are welcome.
The deadline for vendor applications is Sept. 28.
“The main goal for this festival is to raise funds to benefit the Charleston Arts and Revitalization Effort (CARE) in an effort to enhance the city of Charleston through the arts,” said festival coordinator Rebecca Brewer.
Gateway to the Delta, which in 2018 celebrates its eighth year, is a one-day festival featuring live musical acts throughout the day, a Kids’ Zone with many activities, a car show, arts and crafts, a wide variety of hot and cold food offerings and more.
This year’s complete musical lineup and a detailed schedule of events will be announced very soon.
Official original artwork for the 2018 Gateway to the Delta Festival was designed by area artist Cristen Craven Barnard. Orders for posters and T-shirts featuring the artwork will be taken soon.
“Tallahatchie Tailgate” spots on the northeast corner of the square will be available to rent for the whole weekend for anyone wishing to be able to enjoy both the festival and the preparty, “Friday Night Live on the Square,” sponsored by the Charleston Main Street Association. These spaces are available for $150.
