The start of the 2018 college football season is fast approaching and the Ole Miss Rebels are hard at work preparing for the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Sept. 1 in Houston.

Ole Miss took to the practice field in full pads for the first time during fall camp on Tuesday, Aug. 7. The team has used a lot of different combinations with the reps today, according to head coach Matt Luke.
“[We] have done a lot of split teams especially on defense,” Luke said. “There are some guys stepping up and it has been a good day at work.”
Five days into fall camp the Ole Miss Rebels have had some injuries they have had to deal with out on the field. Junior wide receiver A.J. Brown has a minor hamstring injury but nothing serious, according to Luke. Defense back Javien Hamilton is also dealing with a minor hamstring injury while tight end Jason Pellerin dislocated his finger and will be out for about a week.
The Rebels freshman quarterback Matt Corral looked really good today early than started cramping later in the practice, according to Luke.
“He did some zone reads and just cramped up,” he said.
Red-shirt freshman Ben Brown has found himself running with the ones during fall camp, Luke said.
The Rebels host Meet the Rebels on Saturday, Aug. 11 at 11 a.m. inside the Manning Center where fans will be able to see the unveiling of the Land Shark mascot.
