Treehouse Toys Invites Local Children to be "Toy Testers" Aug. 11
Every child can remember his or her favorite toy, but what they may not realize is they are also integral to childhood development.
Treehouse Toys, located in the Oxford Galleria II across from clothing chains Ross and Marshalls, invites local kids to become toy testers on Aug. 11, from 10 a.m. to noon.
This interactive event gives children the opportunity to evaluate toys manufactured by the Melissa and Doug brand — a company whose mission, “Take Back Childhood”, embraces the philosophy that kids should have unstructured time and space to imagine, create, explore and think.
“We’re transforming our store into a toy testing lab, where kids ages three and older actually become official Melissa & Doug toy testers for the morning,” store owner Jennifer Kincaid said. “Using the power of their imaginations, they’ll test out four Melissa & Doug toys, share their feedback and discover the joy of coming up with new ways to play.”
Additionally, the first 50 participants will receive a take-home “imagination kit” and parents are encouraged to attend.
“It’s so important for parents to play a part in sparking their kids’ imaginations,” Kincaid said.
All Melissa and Doug merchandise will be priced at 20 percent off during the event.
