Oxford Crime Reports for July 18, 2018
The following reports were made Wednesday, July 17, 2018, by city, university and county law enforcement agencies.
Oxford Police Department investigated one wreck, issued 19 tickets and investigated the following reports:

1 animal complaint
1 careless driving complaint
2 disturbing the peace complaints
1 extortion
2 fire department assists
2 lost properties
1 motorist assist
1 petty theft
1 robbery
2 simple assaults
4 suspicious activities
1 suspicious person
2 suspicious vehicles
Officers made the following arrests:
1 DUI, no insurance, no driver’s license and no tag
1 possession of a schedule 2 drug and possession of a schedule 4 drug
Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following reports:
2 alarms
1 disturbance
2 petty thefts
1 harassment
2 service calls
1 sexual assault
3 suspicious activities
5 welfare concerns
1 scam
1 trespassing
4 informational reports
2 follow-ups
3 reckless driving
3 civil matters
1 unauthorized use of vehicle
8 papers served
Deputies picked up two people on Chancery Court writs to take into custody.
University Police Department responded to three medical calls and reports of two stolen bicycles from Campus Walk apartments.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
7:49 p.m. – Wilson Art – call cancelled
12:29 & 1:29 p.m. – Campus Creek Bldg. 2 – water flow alarm malfunction
3:43 this morning – Booker Road – subject with trouble breathing – EMS already on scene
4:41 this morning- The Archive, Bldg. 2000 – fourth floor elevator smoke detector malfunction
