Oxford Crime Reports for July 11, 2018

The following reports were made Wednesday, July 11, 2018, by city and county law enforcement agencies. 
Oxford Police Department investigated eight wrecks, issued nine tickets, made one arrest for disturbing the peace and responded to the following calls:
6 alarms
1 civil matters
1 discharging the peace
2 fire department assists
1 lost property
1 motorist assist
1 phone harassment
1 recovered property
1 simple assault
3 suspicious activities
1 suspicious vehicle
1 vehicle search
1 welfare check
OPD made the following arrests:
1 disorderly conduct
1 DUI, no taillights and no insurance
2 for shoplifting
Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following reports:
2 alarms
4 animal complaints
1 domestic violence
1 grand larceny
1 petty theft
1 juvenile complaint
2 suspicious activities
4 welfare concerns
1 transport
2 trespassing
5 information
2 road obstructions
2 civil matters
2 assistance calls
15 papers served
LCSD made the following arrests:
2 Chancery Court writs
1 domestic violence with simple assault
1 contempt warrant
University Police Department reported no arrests or incidents.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
12:29 p.m. to the Pi Kappa Alpha house for a report of the smell of gas due to an HVAC unit malfunction
5:29 p.m. to Highway 6 West and West Jackson Avenue for a vehicle fire
9:32 p.m. to 204 Pegues Road for a cooking fire in the oven
