A commercial party held at The Field in Lafayette County was raided by law enforcement Friday and led to the arrest of two women for allegedly selling alcoholic beverages and beer.

According to the Mississippi Department of Alcohol Beverage Control, a search warrant was executed at The Field, located at 53 CR 269 on Friday by ABC agents who were assisted by Lafayette County Metro Narcotics, Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and Oxford Police Department.
The search warrant was obtained following an undercover investigation and complaints that illegal sales and/or distribution of alcoholic beverages and beer were occurring at The Field.
“We get calls out there regularly,” said LCSD Chief Investigator Alan Wilburn.
Wilburn said law enforcement learned about the party, dubbed, Ciroc Twerk Fest 2K18, from a flier that was circulated around Lafayette County announcing the event, time and location. According to the flier, it cost $10 to enter the party.
Dominique Woodard, 27, of Pontotoc and Shannon Hodges, 41, of Oxford were arrested and charged with possession of alcoholic beverages with intent to sell without a permit and possession of beer in a dry county.
The women were issued citations and released on the scene. Four other people were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct by the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department.
During the search, agents “seized” a large number of alcohol beverages, firearms and drugs.
Wilburn said since the drugs and guns were thrown into garbage cans and on the floor when police arrived, there was no way to know what belonged to whom, so no arrests were made in relation to the guns and drugs found at the party.
“They just threw it all in the trash and the floor and we picked it up,” Wilburn said.
More arrests could be pending a completed investigation, he said.

Guns, drugs and alcohol packaged for sale were discovered by ABC and local law enforcement agencies Friday.

Agents and police recovered four guns, with one being reported stolen recently in Oxford, numerous bags of suspected marijuana; pills believed to be Ecstasy; hydrocodone pills and 3.5 grams of a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine.
The handguns and narcotics were turned over to and seized by the Lafayette County Metro Narcotics Unit.
