Oxford Awarded 'Best Downtown Area 2018' by Mississippi Magazine

Oxford collected several accolades in this year’s ‘Best of Mississippi 2018’ sponsored by Mississippi Magazine.
Oxford was awarded ‘Best Downtown Area’ along with additional honorable mentions in food, arts and entertainment. The votes are cast by the magazine’s readers and ranked accordingly.
“The cultural and economic hub of the city, Oxford’s historic downtown square is full of elegant boutiques and wonderful restaurants. Curl up with a book at Square Books or step into Neilson’s, the South’s oldest department store. Whether an Ole Miss fan or not, there is something for everyone in Oxford.” — Dotsie Stevens, Mississippi Magazine
Mayor Robyn Tannehill tweeted how proud she was to see the City of Oxford at the top of this year’s list.

Well, it should get the prize because that’s where all the tax dollars are spent.
The rest of the city is pretty much left out when it comes to municipal investment.
This award is kind of like touting, “We have the prettiest rich people.”
