Oxford Crime Reports for June 26, 2018

The following reports were made Tuesday, June 26, by city and county law enforcement agencies. 
Oxford Police Department investigated nine wrecks, issued 51 tickets and responded to the following calls:
2 911 hang-ups
4 alarms
1 credit card fraud
2 disturbing the peace
1 domestic disturbance
1 fire department assist
2 petty theft
2 suspicious activities
1 suspicious person
1 vehicle search
OPD made the following arrests:
3 for DUI and careless driving
1 for DUI, speeding, careless driving and failure to yield
1 for no driver’s license, no insurance and expired tag
1 for possession of drug paraphernalia, no insurance, no driver’s license and speeding
1 for shoplifting
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department investigated two wrecks and the following reports:
1 alarm
1 residential burglary
1 disturbance
2 service calls
3 suspicious activities
6 transports
3 informational requests
1 follow-up
2 civil matters
2 assists
3 papers served
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department reported no arrests.
University Police Department served a warrant, investigated a report of fraud and conducted two traffic stops resulting in one citation for speeding.
Oxford Fire Department responded at:
8:25 a.m. to The Connection apartments for a water flow alarm malfunction
10:50 a.m. to Swayze Field after workers activated a smoke detector
12:21 p.m. to Bickerstaff Drive for a wreck
7:25 p.m. to Highway 7 and Belk Boulevard for a wreck
4:51 this morning to Campus Creek for a water flow alarm malfunction
