Ole Miss women’s tennis standout and NCAA Champion Arianne Hartono received another honor on Monday, as she was named to the 2018 ITA Collegiate All-Star Team.
Hartono becomes the second player in program history to be named to this prestigious team, joining four-time All-American Agnes Muzamel who made the team in 1997.
The ITA Collegiate All-Star Team honors the top student-athletes of the 2017-2018 season from all five divisions of college tennis.
The ITA Collegiate All-Star Team features the nation’s top-ranked men’s and women’s players from the year-end Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings, in addition to winners of the 2017 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships and 2018 NCAA Division I and III Championships.
Hartono, a Meppel, Netherlands native, became the first NCAA Singles Champion for the Ole Miss women’s tennis program, the first player in program history to be named the SEC Player of the Year after finishing 11-2 at No. 1 singles in SEC play, and the first Honda Sports Award winner in school history. As the ITA Co-Senior Player of the Year, Hartono was a three-time All-SEC honoree and a two-time ITA All-American. She finished the year winning 17-straight matches, including 23 wins against ranked opponents. Hartono finished the season with a 37-6 record and is tied for second all-time on the Ole Miss single-season win list.
