New Principal Announced for Oxford Elementary School

Oxford School District Superintendent, Brian Harvey, announced that Cindy Bigham will be leading Oxford Elementary School (OES) next year. Bigham is currently the Assistant Principal at Della Davidson Elementary School and is a former Assistant Principal for OES. She came to the district in 2009 as a Special Education Teacher at Oxford Middle School. Prior to teaching in Oxford, she has taught in Starkville, Clinton and Birmingham, Alabama.
Bigham holds a bachelor’s degree in Special Education K12 from Mississippi College and master’s degree in Special Education K12 from Mississippi State University. She received her Specialist in Educational Leadership K12 from the University of Mississippi.

“Mrs. Bigham’s experience as an assistant principal in our district, as well as her experience in teaching students with special needs, makes her the perfect fit for leading Oxford Elementary next year,” said Superintendent Harvey.
Bigham is replacing Tamara Hillmer who was recently announced as the new Director of Early Childhood and Reading Development for Oxford and Lafayette County. She will begin her new role on July 1, 2018.
