Oxford Businesses Prepare for Graduation
The end of the semester at Ole Miss is here and students can finally catch their breath, unless they are preparing for graduation. Students aren’t the only ones preparing, so are some local Oxford businesses.
Four months after the opening of I Just Have to Have It, co-owner Katherine Hessler says there’s always something for them to be prepared for in the city of Oxford, graduation is one of them.
“Having the perfect outfit for graduation can be a stress reliever for girls,” Hessler said.
During their prep for graduation, the owners went to market in Atlanta to find what they thought to be the perfect attire for graduation.
“We ordered a lot of chiffon dresses and rompers and just a lot of solid colors, mostly,” Hessler said.
What makes this boutique stand out from the others on the square is that it is co-owned by two students who attend the university.
“We have met a lot of girls on campus, in class and out of class. Some girls from California, Florida, and Mississippi all like different things so we try to cater to everybody.”
The Hessler’s wants their customers to be the most confident on their special day. Their graduation game plan is to just simply offer style tips.
“We have people come in here asking what they should wear or what color they should wear,” Hessler said. “We just help them pick out an outfit.”
Senior, Kiley O’Toole says she was able to find just the right dress for her big day.
“Nothing was really working,” she said. “I just wasn’t loving anything. I put that on and I thought I could see myself wearing this that day. ”
I Just Have To Have It also sells graduation gifts.
“Our gift cards are our number one seller,” Hessler said. “We also have sunglasses, game day purses, jewelry, and bath bombs. Those are cute little happy’s.”
