OPD Arrests Three, One on Multiple Charges Including Sex Trafficking
The Oxford Police Department arrested Ford Biedenharn, 24 of Oxford, Thursday, March 1, for credit card fraud. On Feb. 22, the Oxford Police Department took a report from a victim that stated their credit card had three unauthorized transactions on the account.
Biedenharn was transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center and given a bond of $2,500.
The Oxford Police Department arrested Hunter Lenard, 18 of Batesville, on Tuesday, Feb. 27 for burglary. On Feb. 12, the Oxford Police Department took a report that someone had broken into their vehicle and stole a shotgun along with other items. Through the course of the investigation, OPD officers learned that Lenard was the suspect in the auto burglary. The shotgun was subsequently recovered in Panola County. Lenard was arrested by the Batesville Police Department on the burglary warrant and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center and given a bond of $10,000.
OPD officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a switched tag. During the stop, the driver, Edward Daniels, 38 of Oxford, was suspected of driving under the influence. When officers were talking with him, they found narcotics in his possession. While officers continued their on-scene investigation, they found that one of his passengers was reported as a runaway juvenile from another county. An investigator was called to the stop location where it was determined that Daniels had been trafficking the minor for commercial sex acts. He has been charged with trafficking and his bond was revoked due to Daniels being out on parole. This case is still ongoing.
