Obituary: Funeral Service for Michael Harold Overstreet to Be Held March 3
Michael Harold Overstreet, 70, passed away on Thursday, March 1, at his home in Oxford.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 3, at 2 p.m. at Christ Presbyterian Church in Oxford with Rev. Curt Presley officiating. Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. The visitation will be held Saturday, March 3, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. in West Hall at Waller Funeral Home.
Born in Oxford to the late Edgar Harold and Katie Mae Wallace Overstreet, Mike previously served as an accountant for Goodyear and American Greeting Cards and was a farmer of cotton, soybeans and rice in Mississippi County, Arkansas, before moving back to Oxford in 1994. He followed in his parents’ footsteps in the Real Estate and Long-Term Care Facility industries. He served in various positions on numerous boards for the Mississippi Nursing Home Association. Mike married his wife in 1996 after meeting her at Christ Presbyterian Church, where he was a member. Traveling was Mike’s favorite hobby, taking him to all seven continents in 17 years. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Katherine Overstreet Logan.
Mike is survived by his wife, Helen Graeber Overstreet of Oxford; daughter, Marion Overstreet McAbee and her husband, Jeff of Broomfield, Colorado, Ruth Overstreet Buss and her husband, Josh of Neenah, Wisconsin and Helen Rebecca Cornelius of Oxford; son, Robert Thomas Cornelius (Rob) of Portland, Oregon; brother, Larry Overstreet and his wife, June of Oxford and seven grandchildren, Caroline Stovall McAbee, William Vaiden Logan, Caleb Overstreet Logan, John Wallace McAbee, Katherine Isabella McAbee, Evelyn Kate Buss and Olivia Grace McAbee.
