Ole Miss Finds a Win at Missouri
The seven-game losing streak comes to an end for the Ole Miss Rebels as they defeated the Missouri Tigers 90-87 in overtime.
Over the past week, Ole Miss (12-16, 5-10 SEC) has been through a lot of emotions from having their coach step down. When they took to the court they played hard throughout the game with Breein Tyree behind the play scoring 25 points. He also hit the game-tying bucket in regulation to send it into overtime.
Missouri played from behind for 36 minutes in regulation. With 2:38 mark left in regulation the Tigers built a six-point lead over the Rebels.
The Tigers led in scoring by Jontay Porter with 17 points. A total of six players scored in double figures against Ole Miss.
At the 4:14 mark of overtime the Rebels took the lead and never looked back. When the game got into overtime the Tigers could only hit three free throws.
Ole Miss had three other players score in double figures as Terrence Davis posted 19 points, Bruce Stevens scored 13 and Markell Crawford added 11 points of his own.
Interim coach Tony Madlock and his squad picked up their first conference road victory for the Rebels against a stellar defense team.
The Rebels return to the Pavilion on Saturday as they host the Tennessee Volunteers.
