Former Ole Miss offensive coordinator Dan Werner was named the quarterbacks coach at South Carolina by Will Muschamp on Friday.
Werner was with the Rebels from 2012-2016, then left to serve as the offensive analyst for the Alabama Crimson Tide. During his tenure at Ole Miss, he helped coach the Rebels to two wins in a row over Alabama – in 2014 and 2015.
“Dan has got a wealth of knowledge as a play caller and [is] a great developer of quarterbacks,” Muschamp said in a press conference.
During his career, Werner has worked with quarterbacks Bo Wallace, Chad Kelly, Gino Torretta, Ken Dorsey, Steve Walsh, and Craig Erickson.
Werner will remain with Alabama through the National Championship game on Monday against Georgia.
