So many unusual things happened in the final 3 minutes of Ole Miss’ victory over LSU, it got confusing. Even for the participants. But one thing was clear. Dexter McCluster ran for 148 yards on 24 carries and completed the first pass of his career with a 27-yard scoring strike to a wide-open Shay Hodge, giving Ole Miss a 22-17 lead. That halfback pass in the 4th quarter on the night of November 21, 2009 at Vaught-Hemingway will go down as one of the all time greatest plays in Ole Miss football history.

Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt said, “We were holding our breath every play. I don’t know what all happened down there at the end, I just know the scoreboard read 25-23 Ole Miss Rebels.”
