Alarms, Suspicious Activities, and More in Today's Crime Report
Oxford police responded to the following calls: Five alarms, animal complaint, careless driving, civil matter, domestic disturbance, K9 search, motorist assist, obstructing traffic, scam, shoplifting, simple assault, four suspicious activity, suspicious person, three welfare concern.
Oxford police investigated five accident, 33 tickets and made the following arrest:
DUI 1st, careless driving, suspended license
DUI 1st, Speeding
Possession of Paraphernalia
Public drunk
Public drunk, Parked on a sidewalk
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: Two accidents, four alarms, animal complaint, petit larceny, five service calls, five suspicious activities, welfare concern, two transports, trespassing, reckless driving.
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department made three arrests
Driving with suspended license
Domestic violence, simple assault warrant
Burglary
Oxford Fire Department:
08:24 – Oxford University School – conducting a fire drill
10:35 – Canterbury Crest #112 – burned food activated the smoke detector
15:40 – Turnberry Condos Bldg. H – alarm company testing the fire alarm
21:45 – Marriott Courtyard #210 – smell of gas – no leak – just strong odor coming from pool heater
