John Cofield's Faces of Oxford Featuring Richard Howorth

After we left Square Books last night, someone said, “Man, Richard ‘works his store,’ doesn’t he?” Indeed he does. Richard Howorth is the King of Oxford’s literary scene… and he washes windows, stocks shelves and sweeps the place out, too. Oh and he was mayor a couple of terms. In another small town, that would be the pinnacle of a career. But Oxford is not now nor has it ever been just another small town, and a term or two as mayor is merely one of the check marks on the long resumes for the men and women who once sat in that city hall seat.
That’s right Richard, clean that window so the folks can see the book ad you got taped on there, LOL. “Oxford, Mississippi, The Cofield Collection” is available at Square Books on the Square in Oxford. Thanks Richard, Oxford First!
