Oxford Classics: The Larry Burger
Among the best in Little Easy barstool bites.
There is no dearth of options when it comes to burgers in Oxford, and one of the best is the Larry Burger at Proud Larrys’.
It’s eight ounces of seasoned beef grilled medium and served on a whole wheat bun with mayo and Creole mustard, and lettuce, tomato, red onion, and pickle on the side. Pick a cheese and other toppings if you want. I went with cheddar. Of course, the Larry Burger comes augmented with your choice of fries. I chose another Oxford classic, Larrys’ fries—made from fresh-cut Idaho potatoes, deep fried, and well seasoned—but sweet potato fries are available.
As you can see, I orally removed a portion of the burger so that you can view the delicious guts of it—like a model of the human body in a biology lab. Besides, I couldn’t take a picture on an empty stomach. A few fries have already gone missing.
The meal is photographed here with its new friend, an also partially consumed pint of Magic Hat Elder Betty beer, currently on tap.
Proud Larrys’ is located at 211 South Lamar Boulevard. (662) 236-0050.
