Saturday's Holiday House Tour to Raise Funds for Doors of Hope
Some of Oxford’s most beautiful and unique homes will be featured in the Holiday House Tour, presented by Doors of Hope Transition Ministries, on Saturday, Dec. 2.
The tour runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the South Lamar Historic District, starting at Shadowlawn.
Participants will take a walking tour and view the holiday decorations at six homes in the district, including the Hobbs/Edge home, 913 11th Street; the Lewis home, 712 S. 11th Street; the Myers home, 1005 Fillmore; the Pittman Tompkins home, 706 S. Lamar; the Terry home, 1106 S. Lamar; and the Zeleskey home, 1012 S. Lamar.
Tickets are $20 per person and can be purchased here.
A holiday house party will follow the event at 7 p.m. For $150, participants can attend the house tour and the party, which will be held at the home of Judy and Chris Riddell at 1408 S. Lamar. The party includes live entertainment by Effie Burt and Tate Moore, along with an open bar, heavy hors d’oeuvres by City Grocery and a silent auction. Auction items include a painting by Charlie Buckley, a chef’s dinner at Treehouse Gallery and a beach trip.
Tickets for the party can only be purchased by contacting Susan Bartlett at bbartlett18@att.net or 217-549-7896.
All proceeds will benefit Doors of Hope Transition Ministries, a nonprofit that helps the homeless and those in danger of becoming homeless find permanent housing, employment and life skills.
