Sigma Pi Hosts "Dog Days" to Benefit the Oxford Lafayette Humane Society

Today from noon to 4 p.m., the Ole Miss Sigma Pi Beta Mu chapter hosted their 5th Annual “Dog Days” event. Each member of the organization sold tickets for $5 each and all proceeds go directly to the Oxford Lafayette Humane Society.

Each year Sigma Pi has partnered with the Oxford Lafayette Humane Society to raise awareness and promote pet adoptions. Members of the OLHS brought over 10 dogs today to the event in hopes the exposure would help these dogs find new homes.
Benji Creel, Philanthropy Chair for Sigma Pi, says the “Dog Days” event helps spread awareness about adoption in the community.
“In the past couple of years, many dogs have been adopted by people who attended our ‘Dog Days’ event,” Creel said. “It is always rewarding to see our efforts helped make a difference.”

All the dogs at the event today were available for adoption and the OLHS even brought adoption forms for people to fill out on site.
Creel said that the annual event is something that everyone loves and enjoys.
“This event attracts a multitude of people,” Creel said. “People love getting to pet and play with the dogs, but ultimately they know it is for a great cause.”

If you are interested in adopting, call the Oxford Lafayette Humane Society at (662)-236-7631 or visit them on the web at oxfordpets.com.
