Gulf Coast Residents Brace for Hurricane Nate

The Mississippi Gulf Coast is under a hurricane warning, as Hurricane Nate speeds along with sustained winds of 90 m.p.h.
Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana are currently experiencing heavy rain, with Harrison County under a storm surge warning. Surges could reach up to 10 feet. Biloxi sits in the middle of the storm’s projected path.
Mississippi has declared a state of emergency as the hurricane approaches.
In Louisiana, New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu urged residents to get to a safe place, according to CNN. “It’s going to hit hard, it’s going to hit fast,” he said.
