Five Homecoming Events You Don’t Want to Miss
It’s that time of year again, when alumni, students, faculty, and fans from all over come together for the annual Ole Miss homecoming game. Monday, October 9, will kick off this year’s homecoming week, leading up to the game on Saturday against Vanderbilt. Here are some events put on by the Student Activities Association to help put you in the homecoming spirit:
1. Mechanical Shark & Free Popcorn
On Monday, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., come out to the Galtney-Lott plaza on Business Row and see what its like to ride a mechanical shark! Then, grab some free popcorn right after.
2. Silent Disco
If you’re looking for something to do on Tuesday night, then grab some friends and head to the Grove for the Silent Disco! From 9-11 p.m., you can have a dance party with all your fellow Rebels.
3. Trivia and Pizza Night
On Wednesday night from 6:30-7:30 p.m., enjoy some trivia and free pizza at the Grove Stage. It’s a great way to test your knowledge and get some dinner in the process.
4. Rebels got Talent
Head out to the Grove Stage on Thursday night at 7 p.m. to cheer on some of your talented fellow Rebels! Contestants were chosen from a selective audition process and will compete for a $250 grand prize.
5. Annual Homecoming Parade
Don’t miss the annual homecoming parade and pep rally on Friday night! This event starts at 5:30 p.m. in the Lyceum Circle and will end on the Square. Be sure to find a spot on the route to enjoy the Homecoming Court, cheerleaders, Rebelettes, and The Pride of the South!
