DUI, Shoplifting and More in This Weekend's Crime Report
Oxford police responded to the following calls: 911 Hang up, abandon vehicle, 16 alarms, two ambulance assist, animal complaint, five careless driving, two civil matters, seven disturbing the peace, two domestic disturbance, fire department assist, two civil matters, two improper parking, lost property, malicious mischief, four motorists assist, three noise violations, non-forced residential burglary, obstructing traffic, two petit larcenies, two property damage, shoplifting, two simple assault, 10 suspicious activity.
Oxford police investigated 17 accidents, 62 tickets and made the following arrest:

Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: three accidents, simple assault, five alarms, four animal complaints, 15 disturbances, domestic violence grand larceny, two juvenile complaints, 13 service calls, six suspicious activities, vandalism, five welfare concerns, four transports, follow-up, traffic complaint, four reckless driving.

9/29 – 20:50 – Stewart Hall – burned food 3rd floor kitchen
9/29 – 20:53 – The Graduate – 1st floor northwest lounge – a candle activated a smoke detector
9/29 – 23:02 – 616 Northwood Trails area – rescued a cat from a tree
9/30 – 01:34 – High Cotton Condos – someone climbed the fence and discharged a fire extinguisher as a prank causing the elevator equipment room smoke detector to activate
9/30 – 10:46 – Alpha Pi House – call canceled
9/30 – 19:44 – 3 Hwy. 314 (Old Sardis Road) – wreck subjects refused medical treatment
9/30 – 20:07 – ATO house – room 17 – a fan on top bunk was facing the smoke detector causing an activation
9/30 – 20:44 – Hwy. 6 E & South Lamar – call canceled by Baptist EMS
9/30 – 22:04 – Office Depot – rooftop unit #6 smoke detector malfunction
9/30 – 22:28 – The Cove – possible stroke – took vitals and stood by until EMS arrived
10/1 – 14:37 – Behind Luvel Hall – grass fire caused by a break in an underground power line – stood by for University Power
10/1 – 14:41 & 15:15 – Lucky Day Residential College – CO2 detector malfunction in the kitchen
10/1 – 16:59 – 658 Hwy. 6 west – wreck with multiple injuries – helped stabilize patients until wings arrived
10/2 – 01:41 – ATO house – room 7 smoke detector malfunction
University Police: Six vehicle stops, suspicious person/vehicle, petit larceny.
