Forgery, Simple Assault And More In Today's Crime Report

Oxford police responded to the following calls: Six alarms, ambulance assist, two careless driving, disturbing the peace, three domestic disturbance, eight forgery, obstructing traffic, simple assault, two suspicious activity, suspicious person, two suspicious vehicles, four welfare concerns.
Oxford police investigated two accidents, 28 tickets and made the following arrest:
1 Disorderly Conduct, Speeding
2 DUI 1st, Careless Driving
1 Public Drunk, Possession of Paraphernalia
4 Public Drunks
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: Accident, three alarms, four animal complaints, six disturbances, domestic violence, petit larceny, harassment, two service calls, two suspicious activity/persons, welfare concerns, trespassing, traffic complaint, two civil matters.

Oxford Fire Department:
11:33 – 2215 Jefferson Davis Drive – workers cutting sheetrock activated a smoke detector
17:13 – Chi Omega house – heavy spray from an aresol can activated a smoke detector
18:53 – The Retreat Fitness Center – water flow alarm malfunction
University Police: Possession of drug paraphernalia, suspicious person, bicycles, speeding, vehicle stop, seatbelt.
