“It was certainly a good weekend for us this past weekend with two good, quality wins. High Point is a very good team and has been and will do very well in their league,β Mott said. βIt was an interesting game, they set their defensive line pretty deep so it was hard for us to break down. We luckily scored two goals early in that game and then really three goals at the end to finish them off. I was happy with the way our team defended and attacked in that game and really didn’t allow them many chances. Last night was kind of a rivalry game with Southern Miss, we hadn’t played them a long time.β
Sophomore forward Alley Houghton has been very key off the bench for the red and blue this season. She is currently third on the team in points with nine.
“Big improvement for Alley Houghton, she is a firecracker. She gives us a big spark off the bench, and has great pace and knows how to score. She scored a million goals in high school and is doing a good job. I think she is first in the league with five assists, which at this stage after six games is really impressive,β Mott said.
This weekend, the Rebels travel up I-55 to Memphis to take part in the Memphis Tournament. On Friday, Ole Miss will face off against Tulsa before taking on Memphis on Sunday.
