The Oxford Charger Athletic Boosters invite the community and #ChargerNation fans and supporters to get their groove on during the third annual event Boosters and Blues on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at The Powerhouse, 413 South 14th Street in Oxford. The third annual fundraiser brings the theme of Woodstock “Peace Love Chargers” to this year’s event, which benefits the Oxford Charger athletic teams on the middle school and high school level.
Event organizers encourage Oxford Charger parents and supporters to dust off their bell bottoms, throw on some love beads, and join in on a groovy time.
“Like our school and our town, this event is becoming a very big deal, and we hope that our community will come out to support this fun event,” said Charger Athletic Boosters Club President Geoffrey Yoste. “Our athletics program moves up to 6A this coming school year, where the towns are bigger, and some schools have newer facilities: we know that the road to 6A is uphill, but we know we can and will compete at the state’s highest level athletically, but we need the support of our fellow Oxford Middle School and Oxford High School parents, friends and supporters.”
Tickets are $50 per individual, and a limited number of Charger host tickets — $150 per couple — along with corporate sponsorships are still available for purchase. Event tickets can be purchased from booster club board members.
The Oxford Charger Athletic Booster Club supports all Oxford Middle and Oxford High School athletic teams in a variety of ways, including purchasing needed athletic equipment and other items not readily available through the school district athletic budget. The school-related organization also provides recognition items for Oxford Charger student-athletes through the purchase of items such as lettermen jackets, senior banners, and state championship rings.
