Disturbing The Peace, Reckless Driving, DUI And More In This Weekend's Crime Report

Crime ReportOxford police responded to the following calls: 911 abuse, aggravated assault, 10 alarms, three ambulance assist, six animal complaints, two careless driving, seven disturbing the peace,domestic disturbance, two embezzlement, three fire department assist, improper parking, joyriding, lost property, two malicious mischief, five noise violations, person locked keys in apartment, five public drunk, recovered property, shoplifting, simple assault, nine suspicious activity, six suspicious persons, four utility call outs, eight welfare concerns.
Oxford police investigated 13 wrecks, issued 57 traffic citations and made arrests on the following charges:
Animal cruelty, warrant served
Disturbing the peace, public drunk, minor in possession of alcohol
Domestic violence—Simple assault
DUI 1st, careless driving
DUI 1st, Ran red light
DUI 1st, careless driving, expired tag
Minor in possession of alcohol
possession of drug paraphernalia
possession of drug paraphernalia, one headlight
simple assault, warrant served
suspended driver’s license, No Tag
Trespassing, public drunk
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: Five accidents, 11 alarms, two animal complaints, residential burglary, six disturbances, petit larceny, harassments, juvenile complaints, five malicious mischief, 40 service calls, seven suspicious activities, five welfare concerns, scam, four transcripts, three traffic complaints, fraud, two reckless driving, 11 civil matters.
Lafayette Sheriff’s department made four arrests
DUI, no driver’s license, reckless driving
AWOL warrant
DUI, reckless driving, failure to yield to blue lights, no insurance
DUI, no driver’s license, no insurance
Oxford Fire Department: 
Construction dumpster fire in-between Crosby Hall and Resident Hall #1.
Hot air from opening the attic door activated the hall smoke detector at 12 Highland Place.
Steam from popcorn machine activated a smoke detector at Guyton Hall.
Testing the alarm system at 514 East Jackson Ave.
General fire alarm malfunction 1111 West Jackson Ave.
Workers activated a smoke detector at Chick-Fil-A.
Car fire at 1103 Augusta area.
Shower steam activated a smoke detector at Residential Hall #3.

University Police: Vehicle stop, disturbance, simple assault, domestic violence, motor vehicle damage, fire.
