This Month, the University of Mississippi Museum is hosting several free events to unite the community and celebrate diversity. These events will not only be educational but also hands-on and interactive for the visitors.
“The Museum has a wide range of programming, both free and paid, for audiences starting at age zero, but one of our goals this year has been promoting repeat visits and additional self-guided activities,” Curator of Education at the Museum, Emily McCauley, said.
From July 5-7, the Museum will be hosting open studio drop-in days to celebrate American art. Visitors will explore the diversity of the contemporary American art exhibit and learn about immigrants who became famous artists in the U.S.A.
The public is also welcomed to help complete a community diversity map and draw patriotic self-portraits. The open studio is intended to show the public their shared heritage as Americans. No reservations or calls are required.
“The drop-in studio days are meant for families, adults and single people with designed experiences to appeal to all ages,” Steven Mockler, AmeriCorp VISTA volunteering at the Museum, said. “We have easy activities for kids as well as deep thinking exercises for adults.”
July 7 will also be the first Friday free sketch day of the month. This event, which is hosted every first Friday of every month, allows patrons the chance to sit down and draw their ideas about the museum exhibits. Free sketch material and stools will be provided to visitors.

“Free sketch days have provided the opportunity for people from all backgrounds and all ages to take a break from their day and spend some time reflecting and sketching in the galleries,” Emily said. “While many people love guided workshops, we have also learned that sketching can be a peaceful activity that people enjoy doing independently.”
At the end of this month, The Museum will be hosting an open studio where members of the community can come together and assemble puzzle piece relief sculptures. Following the work of Kent Rogowski, who’s exhibit “Love=Love” which opened on May 23, visitors will make their own collage from puzzles to take home. This open studio will last from July 24-28.

Expectations are high regarding the new features which are going to come in with the launch of FIFA 18.
And particularly after an exhilarating release of trailer a few days back, fans have gone really crazy.
A high-quality game is definitely on the cards.
