Reported Gun Shots, Malicious Mischief And More In This Weekend's Crime Report
Oxford police responded to the following calls: 15 alarms, 12 suspicious activities, two welfare concerns, three 911 hang ups, six animal complaints, two malicious mischiefs, five reported careless drivers, three simple assaults, seven disturbances, fire dept. assist, complaint of lost property, three petit larcenies, reported gun shots—Riverside Place and Anderson Road, two motorist assists, three illegally parked cars, reported public intoxicants, four noise violations, utility call out, false pretense, two trespassing, ambulance assist, counterfeit currency, cyberstalking, forged prescription.
Oxford police investigated seven wrecks, issued 64 traffic citations and made arrests on the following charges:

2 No Seatbelt & Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
3 Warrants Served
One Headlight & DUI
Speeding, No Insurance & Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Disturbing the Peace, Fake ID, Public Intoxication & Failure to Comply
2 Public Intoxication
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: Two accidents, simple assault, five alarms, ten animal complaints, residential burglary (Hwy 30), ten disturbances, domestic violence, grand larceny, petit larceny, two harassments, 20 service calls, 10 suspicious activities, three welfare concerns, fraud, seven reckless driving, two civil matters.
Lafayette Sheriff’s department made six arrests
Three contempt warrants, no driver’s license and no insurance, public drunk, domestic violence and simple assault warrant.
Oxford Fire Department:
Call cancelled to Baptist Memorial Hospital.
A couple gallons of gas spilled on the ground. at Kangaroo Express 1802 University Ave. Fire dept. soaked it up with oil dry.
Excessive moisture in the room activated the smoke detector at the South Residential College in Room 432.
A smoke detector malfunction at the South Residential College elevator one equipment room.
Warming food activated a smoke detector at the First Presbyterian Church.
University Police: Two vehicle stops, ambulance needed to Minor hall, accident hit and run, petit larceny, other forms of harassment, malicious mischief.
