Oxonians Cast Votes In Democratic Primaries For Wards 1 & 5
Ahead of the general election on June 6, the democratic primary is being held today for Wards 1 and 5 in Oxford.
In Ward 1, incumbent Rick Addy is seeking re-election while Patrick Herbert is looking to take over Addy’s spot on the ballot.
Theressa Hilliard is seeking to represent Ward 5 on the general election ballot over incumbent candidate Preston Taylor.
Voting is taking place at the Oxford Conference Center today until 7 p.m. and those who come to vote must have a photo ID with them. the following forms of ID will be accepted:
-Driver’s license
-Photo ID card issued by branch, department to entity of the State of Mississippi
-U.S. Passport
-Government employee ID card
-Firearms license
-Student ID from accredited Mississippi college or university
-U.S. military ID
-Tribal photo ID
-Any other photo ID issued by any branch, department, agency, or entity of the U.S. government or any state government
-Mississippi Voter ID Card
Outside of the Conference Center, HottyToddy.com was able to catch up with two of the candidates ahead of today’s election. Patrick Herbert was not outside, and Preston Taylor declined to be interviewed.
