Where Will Evan Engram Hear His Name Called In The NFL Draft?

CBS’ Gary Danielson was a guest on SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Unleashed on Monday afternoon. While naming his sleeper picks for tonight’s NFL draft,  Danielson brought up Evan Engram, the former Rebel TE who made a name for himself in Oxford, but burst onto the national scene with an impressive workout at the combine. 
“Evan Engram out of Ole Miss is a mismatch. [He] is an h-back tight end type that will be really tough to cover in the NFL. A little thin right now, he’ll put on 15-20 pounds,” Danielson told Chris “Mad Dog” Russo. 
Danielson saw Engram play in a few of his finest games including the 2014 Egg Bowl when the talented TE reeled in five passes from Bo Wallace for 176 yards. Originally a three-star recruit out of Powder Springs, Georgia, Engram emerged as a top target for Rebel QB’s over the past four years, finishing his Ole Miss career with 162 catches for 2,320 yards and 15 touchdowns. 
Engram has been regarded by numerous NFL draft experts as the number 2 TE in the draft behind Alabama’s O.J. Howard. In Mel Kiper and Todd McShay’s head-to-head draft on ESPN, Engram went #19 overall to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
In their respective mock drafts, both Kiper and McShay have Engram going in the second round to the Jacksonville Jaguars. 
In a live mock draft on the NFL Network on Sunday, a panel of analysts projected Engram to team up with another Rebel favorite, Eli Manning. Former DB turned analyst Ike Taylor selected Engram #23 overall to play for the NY Giants to improve their 19th ranked red-zone offense from a season ago. 
Bleacher Report’s Chris Ruling has Engram going #30 to the Pittsburgh Steelers in his latest mock draft. 
While Ole Miss had three players go in the first round of the 2016 draft, Engram will be the only Rebel to be on the lookout out for on the opening night of the NFL draft. I don’t pretend to be an NFL draft expert, but the key for Engram will be how early Howard goes. Once the first domino falls and Howard is off the board, the earlier Engram will go. 
After the Ole Miss pro day, Engram told reporters that he believes he’s a first round talent.  All the mock drafts have been written, analysts have weighed in, but now that draft day has finally arrived, all Engram can do is wait to hear his name called.
