Southern Belle Store Releases T-Shirts Featuring Poetry By Neely-Dorsey
It all started with an idea that came to Penney Green, a dyslexia therapist for Greene County School District.
“On March 31, one of the schools I serve hosted its annual Mississippi Day,” Green said. “I had a t-shirt made by a local person with Patricia Neely-Dorsey’s poem to wear that day. Her name is at the bottom of the poem to give her credit for her great work and contributions to literature in our state.”
Green then wrote to Neely-Dorsey, encouraging her to partner with the likes of Southern Belle Store to use her poems as t-shirt graphics.
“They would be an instant hit with Southern females,” Green said.
And Neely-Dorsey did just that. She contacted Southern Belle, who was beyond excited over the idea.
How to get your own:
The first shirt became available online yesterday, April 6, and will be available in stores in May. There will be around 10 poem designs for customers to choose from.
