Perry Memorial Soccer Tournament This Weekend; DG & Kappa Sig Philanthropies Follow

With spring in full bloom and April just hours away. It’s time for families and students to enjoy the outdoors and the excitement of tournaments that will be underway.
This weekend, the Oxford-Lafayette SportsPlex, located at 878 Hwy 7 South, Oxford, will host the Perry Memorial Classic Soccer Tournament, in memory of Michael and Kim Perry. The dates were chosen in honor of Kim’s birthday which is on April first.
A total of 41 soccer teams will ‘take to the pitch’ in the tournament, with age groups ranging from U-8 to U-12 from all over the Southeast.
Perry memorial soccer tournament is not all that the 73-acre facility will play host to this first week in AprilThe complex has become a great park for local and Ole Miss student sporting events. :Ole Miss Delta Gamma Sorority will hold its “Kick it With DG” Kickball tournament April 4, 5 and 6, which raises money for their philanthropies “Service for Sight” and “Gallant Hearts Guide Dog Center.”
Ole Miss Kappa Sigma Fraternity (for which Dr. Perry was an advisor) will take to the baseball fields with their Diamond Days baseball tournament April 7-8. Their annual event raises money for the Blair Batson Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Michael and Kim Perry, both from Brandon, started their journey together as childhood sweethearts. This couple was compassionate about helping others, for offering pro bono dental care to those in need to funding scholarships for youth sports, consistently showing selflessness and a willingness to give throughout our Oxford community. Dr. Michael and Kim Perry, who were killed in a plane crash in August, self-funded the Oxford-Lafayette SportsPlex to make sure that kids in North Mississippi would always have a place to play. Read more about the Perrys’ legacy in the Oxford community here. The
Perrys three children still live in Oxford with their Aunt and Uncle, Robert and Ashley Perry and their four children.
Through the Oxford-Lafayette SportsPlex and in many other ways, the Perrys will continue to be remembered as some of the most generous citizens Oxford has known.
